From the President: Thanks

May 23rd, 2011 | No Comments

Just a note of thanks to everyone who helped out at the History Day on Saturday. I am guessing we had around 200 visitors, a great success.

Special thanks to Carol and Gary for giving such great tours, Nancy for getting and dropping off the cookies and Emily for serving the refreshments, our traffic control ticket takers at the door – Tom and Marcia, Kurt and Dave for keeping things moving in the barn (Kurt also for the new lights), George for backing everyone up (does anyone have George Emma’s email?) , and finally Daniel who learned the ropes for our next open house! Did I miss anyone? If I did thank you too.

The next big open house will be in October and by then I hope to have the Children’s museum back in shape with a new paint job and continue finish work on the barn. We can do the apple cider making again – I think that is becoming a tradition.

Regards & thanks again,
Paul

A Tour of the Old Stone House in Ramsey, NJ

From the Bergen Record:

“At a one-room schoolhouse in Ridgewood, in homes where George Washington slept, and at a Revolutionary War tavern in Ramsey, history enthusiasts and residents interested in learning more about the area took a walk through time Saturday.

In all, eight historic homes and museums were open to the public for the first annual Northwest Bergen County History Day Tour.”
